Activating it taps the axe on the ground, spawning earth tremors in a huge aoe around you. I dont see anyone using it whatsoever. Is it viable in any way?

It's hidden down a ditch in the snowy mountain pass. Great axes tend to do more aoe attacks than greatswords. The damage from the weapon art is dealt in three instances.
